Boarding schools to get surprise visitors

Boarding schools inspected by Ofsted could face no-notice checks on child welfare and pupil living accommodation for the first time this term, as the watchdog's previous five-day warnings disappear. The surprise visits will only apply where welfare and education are inspected separately.
