Parents are angry after the head of Thornleigh Salesian College in Bolton has spent #163;20,000 on a street cleaner.
Alison Burrowes, headteacher of the school, ordered the machine to keep the school’s surrounding streets litter-free.
However, some parents have even written to the local newspaper in disgust, asking how the school can afford to spend such amounts when other schools complain about lack of funds.
One set of parents at the school said: “The duty is the responsibility of the local council, for which we, Bolton residents, pay a hefty council tax.” gl.
