Skeletons should be taken out of the cupboard, pampered, fed and exercised to make them strong enough to withstand the bone loss resulting in osteoporosis in later life according to the National Osteoporosis Society. And to help teachers encourage children to swap their break-time fizzy drinks and sweets for milk and fruit, the society has produced a photocopiable resource pack called “Healthy Bones” linked to curriculum work on the skeleton, growth, nutrition, and exercise.

Healthy Bones is available from the National Osteoporosis Society, PO Box 10, Radstock, Bath BA3 3YB for Pounds 8.
