There is still time to book for key seminars at next week’s Special Needs London event, staged at the Business Design Centre in Islington by Nasen and The TES. Last year 5,000 teachers attended.

A keynote address by Chris Wells, the official in charge of special needs and disability at the DfES, opens two days of professional development at 11am on Friday October 20. Highlights on Saturday October 21 include three 11am sessions: Angela Makepeace on the role of the Senco and Every Child Matters; Rob Long’s “practical strategies to challenge negative thinking”; or Fintan O’Regan on oppositional defiant disorder in key stages 2 to 4.

To book for seminars (cheaper in advance at pound;8 for Nasen members and pound;10 for others), call 01923 690 646 or visit www.teachingexhibitions.co.uk
