Pupils will get the chance to judge a national book competition won three times by JK Rowling, the Harry Potter author.
Geraldine Brennan, TES books editor, is on a panel of adults choosing a shortlist of nine books for the Nestle Smarties book prize.
In September children aged up to 11 can compete for the chance to judge which books win the medals and to attend the awards ceremony at London’s British Library on December 8.
