The Fusion 2000 conference did hear of one wheeze which Scottish schools might find profitable. Malcolm Buckby, Education Minister in South Australia, spoke of the strong vocational emphasis in the curricula there, including wine making and horse racing, reflecting the state’s majo industries.
Schools are, of course, encouraged to make their own vintages and one high school even has its own racehorse.
The first school to establish its own winery has won prizes for its label, exporting its product to New York.
