The pass mark in a test is 50% of the total on two papers. Paper A is marked out of 100 and Paper B out of 200.

Anna scored 40% on Paper A and 60% on Paper B.

Dan scored 60% on Paper A and 40% on Paper B.

Ella scored 45% on Paper A and 53% on paper B.

Which of the children passed the test?

I think of a number with two different digits.

The difference between my number and the number with the digits in reverse order is 63.

What could my number be?

SOLUTIONS Test scores (age 9-12) Anna and Ella passed the test. Anna scored 40 + 120 = 160, which is more than 50% of 300. Dan scored 60 + 80 = 140, which is less than 50% of 300. Ella scored 45 + 106 = 151, which is more than 50% of 300.

Number puzzle (age 8-13) 92, 81, 70 ,29 or 18. If AB - BA = 63, then A 3 B.
