Children’s laureate Jacqueline Wilson is the latest writer to become a reading champion on the Scottish Executive’s home reading initiative. One of the UK’s most popular children’s authors, Ms Wilson is urging parents and carers to make time for reading with their children.
“Books are the most magical way of enriching our lives. I’d like every parent and carer to read aloud to their children and get them hooked on books for life,” she says. Other reading champions include J.K.
Rowling, Julia Donaldson and Alan Temperley.
