Power to Choose: young women and sexual health. YWCA Briefing pound;4, pound;15 for set of four titles. Order on: 01865 304215 or see www.ywca-gb.org.ukpcpublications.asp.

Recent YWCA Briefings reflect the organisation’s campaigns, which cover whole-school issues including domestic violence and bullying. They seem highly priced for what is effectively a large leaflet, but the high production values and well organised text make the six fold-out pages of A4 easy to absorb. This is a relatively painless way into the key facts and up-to-date research on, in this case, the ignorance, barriers to services and low expectations that contribute to the increase in unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases - and, of course, recommendations for change and examples of ways forward.
