If you're looking for something a little bit more adventurous than bar work in the sun for your sabbatical or gap year, Nonstopski could provide a cool alternative. The company provides intensive 11-week ski and snowboard instruction courses in the Canadian resort of Fernie from January to April.

A season with Nonstopski costs pound;5,800 per person (pound;6,200 for 2005), including flights, accommodation, tuition, seasonal lift pass and meals.
