The British Film Institute’s Paddy Whannel Award for the best media education pack has gone to the Scottish Film Council’s Timecapsule, researched and compiled by Mary Reid. Aimed at 10- to 14-year-olds, the cross-curricular pack, based on the idea of discovering a package of media materials from the early Fifties, contains a video compilation of amateur and professional documentary film, a cinema poster, archive newspaper, family album photographs and teacher’s book.
