Babysitters will be taught life-saving skills in an initiative launched by the Royal Life Saving Society.

The society’s 10,000 trained volunteers will be running two-hour baby resuscitation clinics in the UK and Ireland.

“This is something which is greatly needed,” says society spokesman Nigel Jackson.

“Too many people babysit for someone else’s child without knowing what to do in an emergency.”
