THE search for the successor to the high-profile Professor Tim Brighouse as Birmingham’s chief education officer has been delayed because of a lack of suitable candidates. A replacement was due to be announced at the end of the month, but only one of the 10 applicants was considered good enough to be shortlisted. An appointments panel will meet next week to decide to review the situation.
