A bit belatedly, let us introduce you to Bridgeton Burns Club’s schools concert, a great favourite with fans of the Bard. This year’s bash in Shettleston Halls saw Ryan Sullivan of St Andrew’s Secondary in Glasgow winning the Boys Unbroken Voice trophy for his rendition of “My Nanie’s Awa!”
Alas, Ryan couldn’t perform his piece at the victory concert because, you’ve guessed it, his voice had broken since he won the competition in December last year. A man’s a man, as Burns would have it.
