Teachers have taken strike action over a “ridiculous” #163;17 million Building Schools for the Future rebuild. Staff at St Aloysius College in Islington, north London walked out for the fourth time this week, complaining that L-shaped design technology classrooms in a new block are dangerous. They are concerned that the classrooms do not allow teachers to see their pupils at all times, even when using potentially dangerous tools. Strikers, lead by teaching union the NUT, are calling for the school, council and contactors to resolve the situation.
