Buckinghamshire County Council is running an anti-racism programme in schools throughout the area.

The programme, delivered in partnership with the charity Show Racism the Red Card, was launched at Wycombe Wanderers Football Club with a day of activities for more than 100 pupils from Beechview Junior and High Wycombe CofE primary schools.

The pupils had a tour of the ground in the morning and took part in an anti-racism workshop.

In the afternoon there was a drumming performance and they watched a Show Racism the Red Card DVD.

Pupils were able to discuss racism with current Wanderers footballers Kevin Betsy and John Mousinho, who were at the launch alongside other present and ex-professional footballers from the region including Luther Blissett and Paul Mortimer.

Show Racism the Red Card is a charity which produces anti-racist educational resources. It harnesses the high profile of professional footballers to combat racism and is currently encouraging schools to register for its 10th schools anti-racist art competition. HW.
