The millennium bug could hit school buildings, supplies and electrical equipment, Peter Peacock, Deputy Minister for Children and Education, has warned. With only 50 days left to 2000, schools are advised have contingency plans. “People who supply goods and services to your schools will also have systems which are at risk,” Mr Peacock said. Timing devices could fail on IT systems, fire alarms or lifts. A website has been set up on http:www.bug2000.
