Bugs Bunny is making a return to the big screen at the Museum of the Moving Image in London. Until March 7, the fast-talking rabbit’s come-back movie, Carrotblanca, will be playing throughout the day in the museum’s cinema. As well as Bugs, the cartoon also features Sylvester, Daffy Duck and Yosemite Sam.

The museum, which runs a regular animation workshop for young people, will also be showing original drawings from Carrotblanca and providing an opportunity for visitors to create their own animations.

Visitors to the South Bank site will also find a foyer display celebrating the centenary of cinema, showing how the fairground bioscope preceded the development of the moving image. Examples of the work of the pioneering Victorian film makers is on show throughout March in the same building, at the National Film Theatre, with scenes from rare early films brought together into four 90-minute presentations. These include footage of Victorian stage productions, the Boer War, the trial of Alfred Dreyfus, sport and recreation.
