Buildings cash cuts cost Liverpool jobs

The decision to axe the building of 26 new schools in Liverpool could scupper plans to create up to 13,000 jobs in the city. A council report has said at least 3,500 - around 25 per cent - of jobs would have gone to local people if the Government had not scrapped the #163;350 million of funding for the city.
