Arthur Bell Nicholls, a curate, proposed twice before Charlotte finally married him at Haworth Church on June 29, 1854. She died less than a year later. This exhibition at the Bront Parsonage Museum, Haworth, West Yorkshire marks the 150th anniversary of their brief, but happy marriage. A replica of her wedding dress, letters and artefacts telling the story of their relationship are on display, together with her honeymoon dress and wedding gloves and Ellen Nussey’s bridesmaid’s dress. IMAGE AND IDENTITY

To inspire young people to create artwork in all media, the Victoria and Albert Museum has been working with five regional museums. This exhibition will display examples of work produced at all the museums in response to museum collections. ASTRONOMY SUMMER SCHOOL

The European Association for Astronomy Education is holding its summer school at De Glind, near Utrecht in Holland. Aimed at non-specialist secondary teachers, the programme includes lectures, working groups, workshops and observational sessions, all of which are in English. LONDON WASTE

A 12-week secondary teaching programme about London’s waste and how it can be recycled has been developed by London Remade, and is available free online.
