Jorvik Viking Festival

February 16-26

The city of York will still resound with warlike bellows and the clash of steel, but a battle of love is also taking place. King Sihtric of Dublin is to marry Princess Edith, the sister of Aethelstan, the West Saxon King of England, in a royal wedding ceremony at the Minster. Keep an eye out also for battle drills, a ship burial, the famous Trial by Ordeal, the Bloody Battle at Clifford’s Tower, a long ship race on the Ouse and a saga and song night.
