Your leader article (TES, March 30) about the education and skills committee’s report on bullying says that our solution of a national inquiry is “tired and unconvincing”. It may well be an unconvincing solution, but we did not recommend it, so it is a bit much to be criticised for it.

Among the 24 recommendations that we did make were a number seeking to address the problem that much anti-bullying policy is made with little evidence to guide it by asking for further research. But we also made recommendations about exclusions, teacher training, the role of headteachers and other issues.

Your readers can find out about the recommendations for themselves at: http:www.parliament.ukedskills
