(Photograph) - FORMER thespian Emma Bowyer-Warner's new job as an English and media teacher is "a real buzz". But she and husband Darren were only able to afford their joint career change to teaching thanks to the pound;6,000 training bursary. Despite the cash the couple still have large debts.

A new survey from Exeter University suggests that 35 per cent of its postgraduate trainee teachers would not have signed up without the bursary. Only a third expect to be still teaching in 10 years' time.
