Joanne Jones, a literacy co-ordinator, is leaving teaching to concentrate on writing and is planning to spend her winters in Spain from now on.

She says: “I have run a French club at school for the past 14 years for seven to 11-year-olds and have built up quite a collection of resources over that time.”
