* Online Media, a division of the Acorn Computer Group, has won a contract to supply "set-top boxes" (add-on devices for televisions that handle video and multimedia from cable sources) for a Californian educational programme.
The Lightspan Partnership uses interactive IT to reinforce maths and reading teaching for children aged 4-12. It intends using Acorn's set-top boxes, developed in trials in Cambridge, to bridge the gap between homes and school.
