GOOD to see Alan Smithers settling in as Liverpool University’s Sydney Jones Professor of Education (as a colleague reports on page 19). We hear of only a minor irritation: some errant correspondents writing to the Sydney James prof.
That presumably makes Pamela Robinson, Alan’s long-time colleague, Barbara Windsor. We say: Carry On Professor.
