Kirsty Anderson, from Sheffield high school, was selected as assistant referee for the Sheffield Hallam Women’s Challenge Cup final. Kirsty, 17, was presented with a medal for officiating the game. She works at the Sheffield Wednesday academy every Sunday and is the only female referee in the league

Year 5 and 6 pupils from John Shelton primary school in Coventry visited the D-Day beaches and surrounding war cemeteries on a trip to France last term. Headteacher Alan Williams sent us this photo of the children posing by a tank near the Normandy coast
