Cardinal Basil Hume urges Catholic families to send their children to Cath olic schools

Cardinal Basil Hume has urged Catholic families to send their children to Catholic schools. Speaking to the Catholic Independent Schools Conference he described Catholic schools as a priority.

“A Catholic should attend a Catholic school whether in the maintained or private sector,” he said. “That remains the norm.” Catholic state schools remain popular, but a number of private schools have had to close for lack of numbers.
