Cash-strapped careers services in colleges are often unable to meet student demands and colleges’ legal duties, a new report has warned.

Research by the Further Education Development Agency found poor advice may lead to students dropping out of education, but good careers guidance could help to maintain college staying-on rates.

The FEDA has recommended a string of measures to improve college careers advice.
