Your article ‘Deprived areas lose clubs while the prosperous flourish’ (TES, November 9) is wrong to suggest that parental contribution is the only way in which after-school clubs can be funded. The Government is investing pound;1.3 billion in extended schools over the next three years, including pound;265 million to ensure that children from disadvantaged families can access the full range of extended services. Schools are also able to use their school standards grant (personalisation) to support extended services.
