Local authorities are increasing the amount of money they delegate to their schools, according to new figures. Average delegation rates across Wales have risen from a record low of 74.8 per cent in 201011 to 76.2 per cent in 201112. It follows a pledge by Wales’s 22 councils last year to increase delegation rates to 80 per cent within two years and to 85 per cent within four years after pressure from the education minister.
