Major investment is to be pumped into modernising every school and college in Wales, education minister Jane Hutt announced this week. She unveiled the plans in the Senedd, but could not provide figures for the cost of rebuilding or refurbishing every school to 21st-century standards. A joint Assembly government and Welsh Local Government Association board will target investment where it is needed most. EU funds will be used alongside cash from the Assembly and councils.
