(Photograph) - Catch them young: Hundreds of would-be anglers are queuing for places at a fishing school for children in Hull. The eight to 16-year-olds are swapping fishing in a drain to sitting on the banks of four lakes. Reece Bird, sports development officer for Hull City Council, said: “When I take them to the lakes they look around as if it is another world.” The project, Fishing Up North, is funded by a pound;3,000 grant from the Children’s Fund, and is used by heads in term time to reward pupils who attend school without truanting for six weeks.
