(Photograph) - The chalet girl - or boy - is turning professional as a college unveils a course for students wanting to work on the slopes, writes Joseph Lee. Park Lane College in Leeds has launched a BTEC diploma for ski chalet hosts to equip students to cook and clean for skiers after a day on the piste.
Richard Keys, the programme manager, said: “Just 10 years ago, only a few people could afford to go. “Now it’s open to everyone, and as demand grows, the companies need people trained to run the chalets.” The level 2 (GCSE-equivalent) course runs from September to March. Photograph: Guzelian
