WHEN my partner began teaching I am sure he would be the first to admit that he was an unlikely candidate to appear in The TES. This is especially the case now as just over four years ago he left teaching to join the Royal Marines. So imagine my surprise when I turned to page 18 (TES, June 9) to see im doing the “school run” on his first operation in Sierra Leone!

How uncanny! It brought great joy to both myself and our daughter, Zoe (3), as I could explain how Daddy’s helping others and thanks to you she could see him.
