A respected central Scotland secondary was quick off the mark in sending parents full details of its admirable homework policy for each year group. A well produced and meticulous production was only slightly tarnished by the accidental inclusion, stapled neatly into the middle, of the staff social committee arrangements for the coming session.

This was replete with rate of subscription, appropriate gifts or events for sickness, retirement, births, marriages etc. A bucks fizz breakfast featured, along with the possibility of extra subscriptions if needed.

The incredibly well informed parent body would have been delighted to note there is a regular end-of-month “bring a dish” and that the committee reserves the right to add further events “whenever necessary”.

The bucks fizz breakfast sounds just the initiative to promote positive behaviour in the classroom - at least among staff.
