Chance to train in citizenship

More than 1,000 staff will be able to train in teaching citizenship over the next two years.

The Government has extended the training programme following a pilot in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Citizenship has been part of primary education and compulsory in secondaries since 2002 and is now the fastest growing GCSE. There will be places for 1,200 teachers over two years.
