Changing the fabric

Angela Walton, a sixth-year pupil at Grangemouth High, gets in touch with her creative side with the help of the artists-in-residence drafted in to broaden the range of arts and craftwork at Grangemouth and Falkirk high schools. Angela had a taste of "constructive textiles".

Three years of post-16 exams for pupils like her may soon be a thing of the past, however, if ministers follow their instincts on Standard grade and reduce the amount of time spent on external exams, "including the option of sitting exams only when leaving school"
