Two criticisms of the education system by Prince Charles were revealed this week. In an open letter to the Association of Colleges, the Prince said “education experts” focused only on the economic benefit of teaching, rather than the joy of learning. An employment tribunal dealing with the case of Elaine Day, the Prince’s former assistant, also saw a memo in which he criticised child-centred education for encouraging people to take on roles beyond their capabilities.
