Does the full version of Professor Michael Barber's TESGreenwich lecture address the chasm between macro-educational theories - which form the bulk of your edited highlights - and micro-educational realities, which were driven home by the report on the opposite page of the retirement of a Cambridgeshire head in the prime of his life? For as long as the chalk-face reality remains one of constant overload, the professor's project will remain tragically unrealisable.
