BIGGEST disappointment of the NUT conference, meanwhile, was the failure of one new member of the press to show. Given the vast sums the Daily Telegraph is paying Chris Woodhead and his meagre output to date, the lest we could have expected was a sketch. One can only dream of the look on delegates’ faces if he’d wandered into the conference hall. Evidently the most fearless of reformers isn’t quite fearless enough.
