A former presenter for schools’ television programmes has been named as the new chief inspector of private schools. Christine Ryan, a former state school science and maths teacher, takes over from Tony Hubbard, head of the Independent Schools Inspectorate, which inspects 80 per cent of private schools, in January.She has been a registered Ofsted inspector since 1993 and has also been an adviser, script writer and presenter for educationalTV programmes for the past 11 years.
