The Roman Catholic church has admitted that a total of 62 child abuse allegations were made against its clergy, workers and parishioners in England and Wales last year. The Catholic office for the protection of children and vulnerable adults said that 52 of the complaints to police and social services involved sexual abuse. The other allegations included complaints of physical attacks, emotional abuse and downloading child pornography.
