British pupils are financially aware before they get to secondary school thanks to mobile phones, internet shopping and voting on reality television shows, a survey by Populus shows. It revealed that children as young as seven now offer to do chores in exchange for cash to buy ringtones, while eight is the average age for a child to get their first mobile phone.
