PIZZA is the most popular dish on the school menu and curry has knocked chips off the list of favourites with children who now spend more than pound;1.3 billion a year on food.
Nearly seven out of 10 pupils rate their diet as healthy, but almost a third of their pocket money - pound;8.33 million a week - is spent on snacks eaten travelling to and from school. The Sodexho survey also found that 15 per cent of girls aged 15 to 16 spend their cash on cigarettes - up from 5 per cent in 2000 - compared to 6 per cent of boys.
