Sixty-five per cent of children feel unsafe in their schools and want tighter security, a poll has revealed.
Out of the 1,000 children questioned by design advisory body School Works, more than 60 per cent also said they did not like the design of their school buildings and classrooms, and 70 per cent said they wanted more space.
Sarah Hill, head of research at School Works, said: ” Worryingly, some of the children who responded were attending newly built or refurbished schools which should be beautiful and inspiring as well as functional.”
