The British Museum has launched the children’s section of its excellent Compass website. Funding from the Ford Motor Company Fund provided the wherewithal for curators, teachers and education officers to create this site for seven to 12-year-olds and their teachers. Introduced by Alfred, the museum’s lion, it was tested by Camden schools before going live. Based on 800 key objects in the British Museum’s collections, children’s Compass offers a range of imaginative and helpful ways in to its treasures.
