DEPUTY prime minister John Prescott helped launch a children’s parliament on the environment at the House of Commons this week.

Ten and 11-year-olds will get a say on securing a healthy, sustainable future via a schools debating contest. The winners will take part in the national children’s parliament next May. Contact: 01222 874 997.
