The court hearing of a case brought by two parent-governors against Liverpool education authority over the dilapidated state of their school has been postponed until the beginning of June to allow the court to consider legal arguments brought by the council.
Governors of Childwall Comprehensive are using environmental health legislation to try to force the council to do urgent repairs. Problems include a leaking roof affecting electrical circuits. The state of the buildings was severely criticised in a report by the Office for Standards in Education in 1995, which said it indicated “a degree of neglect” by the LEA.
