Choice advisers gain funding

Local councils will share pound;9 million to fund the Government’s network of choice advisers, to help parents from poor backgrounds find good schools for their children.

The Department for Education and Skills said local authorities in England would receive at least pound;15,000 each per year, with more for the poorest areas. The money will pay the wages of advisers over the two or three months a year when they would be required.
